Rino And Lion Park, Gauteng

I had quick visit to the Rino And Lion park here in Gauteng on thursday 25-11-2010.

My main purpose for the visit was to go to the Vulture hide, but I was an hour to late to the hide.
I therefore took a quick ride through the park .

Here are a few of my best shots

Sabie 22-10-10

I had some work to do near the Swaziland border just south of Baberton and it fitted in perfectly with plans Joani, Heila and myself had made for a camping weekend for the same weekend.

The church in Machadodorp.

Theses shots are of the mountains on the Swaziland border.
This was on a little gravel pass, riding north to the Baberton/Swaziland border road.

We camped out for the weekend at Merry pebbles camping terrain in Sabie for the weekend, where Joanie and Heila tackled some of the gravel cycling road that radiate from around the camp site.  I had a relaxed time laying under the pine tree on my back reading "the University of Gravel roads" by Rene Cormier. A book about Rene's adventures on a five year motorcycle trip around the world. Inspirational stuff.
I also took a short ride to the Horseshoe Falls, but due to it being still early in the season and little rain was had in the area, the falls was not much to look at. But I still enjoyed the challenge of trying to capture them nicely.

Our camp site was right on the Sabie river and it offered some nice opportunities to play around with the D300 and water shots.

Friday evening's braai. :)

Saturday morning a bit of bike maintenance was to be done to facilitate the afternoon's ride.

The Longtailed Wagtails were regular visitor that close to the river and very used to having people around.

Saturday Evening some more friends arrived and the camp site became a hive of activities.

Sunday morning we all went to the Bridal veil falls. Once again the low waterlevels made for a less than perfect fall, but the sheer hight of the falls made up for that a bit.

The Geology of the area is also quite Amazing!
