Kruger Park Saterday 24 July 2010

Joanie and me visited the Kruger Park on last Saterday.
We got up very early and arrived at Phabeni Gate just as the sun stuck its head over the horizon.

At Skukuza we got some boiling water for Coffee.
I was fasinated by the sunlight playing off the sprayer throught the trees.

We then spent some time at Lake Panic bird hide where we had some coffee and a few nice bird shots.

Afterwards we worked our way down to the Nkuhlu Picnic site, where we hired a gas Braai and made some lunch.

Then it was on to Lower Sabie and then back along the gravel road north of the Sabie river to exit the park at the Kruger Gate.

It was a long, but rewarding day, and hope to go back for a longer period next time.

First, some irrigation sprayers in the setting sunlight I snapped yesterday.

Today we just hung around Orlando Stadium before the gates opened. Had a look at all the interesting people. :)

We also walked around the stadium.

Afterward we had a drink at Gold Reef City.

It didn't come out exactly as planned, but I think its still cool.

Having grown up on a farm, I'm spoiled When it comes to clear star-filled skies at night.
It's someting that is not seen often by people that grew up in Cities.

I love astronomy and still have to finish my first 6" telescope I'm building.
